Hi everyone, welcome to my blog. I’m going to use this first post to introduce myself, so if we have something in common leave a comment!
I’m currently 19 years old and in my second year of university here at Queen’s. I’m from a small town just south of Ottawa and can honestly say its not nearly as fun as it is in Kingston. I’m studying business and hoping to major in finance come 2 years. I was interested in taking this course since I was introduced to some of the content, which I found interesting, in my Canadian Law course last semester.
Some of my interests include sports, fitness, movies, the outdoors and of course Stages!
I’m really looking forward to learning about others and working through this course together.
Catch ya later!

Hi Nolan! What a small world it is, as I’m also from small town just south of Ottawa. If you are interested in employment law, I would definitely suggest taking a look at EMPR210. What content in particular did you find interesting in Canadian Law? I look forward to hearing back from you. See you at Stages!

Hey Michelle! Crazy that we live so close and never even knew! To answer your question about the Canadian Law course, my favorite part was learning about international law. This allowed me to analyze some of the world’s most serious social issues and learn about the application of international law as well as its limits. Looking forward to working with you for the simulation AND the case analysis.

Hi Nolan and Michelle! This is crazy, I also happen to be from Ottawa! We should most definitely meet up one time when we are back in Ottawa during the summer months. Nolan, I noticed that you mentioned you took a law course here at Queen’s. Does the content that you went over in your law course overlap at all with EMPR200? Also, if you don’t mind sharing, which sports do you play? I look forward to hearing back from you and seeing you both at Stages!

Hey Drew! There has been a pretty significant overlap so far between this course and my law course. The law course actually dedicated an entire week of content to employment law! Although I don’t play as many sports as I used to, I remain an amateur softball player and really enjoy hitting the gym with my housemates. See ya at Stages tomorrow!

Hey Nolan! It’s so great to hear one’s passion for Stages from a fellow Commerce student! I also took the Law 201 course that highlighted an introduction to Canadian Law. Hopefully, you’ll be coming out to the annual “stage rage” that Stages holds every Thursday! What is your favourite course that you have taken so far under in your undergraduate business degree so far? Hope to see you at Stages tomorrow!

Hey Jack. To answer your question, my favorite course thus far was managerial economics. I felt like I learned a lot of things that could be applicable upon graduation and the teacher was very helpful as well! See you at stages tomorrow!

Hi Nolan,
How are you finding the business program? I as well took this course due to my interest in the Law course I have previously taken. I am also a big fan of movies as I am a film and media major, my favorite genres being horror and comedy. What’s your favourite movie? Looking forward to working with you this semester!

Hi Jasmine! I’m finding the business program great so far. It’s pretty challenging but I’ve been learning lots, so I feel like that’s a fair trade-off. My favorite director is Quentin Tarantino because I love most of his movies, but if I had to choose a favorite I’d pick Inglorious Basterds. Looking forward to working with you!
